In this seminar, we will explore the current state of the art in good scientific practice, including perspectives from psychological science, neuroscience, and evidence-based intervention research. We cover topics such as pre-registration, data sharing and documentation, ethical considerations, design standards such as power analysis, data analysis and visualization, but also principles of publication and report writing. This course will convey a basic understanding of the scientific process. We will discuss why certain standards are necessary to ensure good scientific practice. At the same time, we will critically reflect on how they should be applied in a meaningful and profitable manner. |
