Englisch B2+ Listening and Speaking for Academic Purposes - Einzelansicht

This course is designed to develop your oral skills (listening, speaking, critical thinking and discussing) - using English in academic contexts. We will listen to audio and video recordings focusing on various aspects of academic topics, such as linguistics, behavioural science, psychology, international relations and others. You are invited to provide texts (lecture, introductory videos, podcasts) from your own discipline or area of studies and discuss these with the other students.

Please note: There is a full book and a half book. We will only work through the first half of the book. Therefore, you only need to buy the paperback version or e-book Part A (units 1-4).

Upon successful completion of the course you will receive 3 ECTS (Leistungsschein).

In order to receive a "Leistungsschein" (3 ECTS) you will have to:

• pay for the course
• regularly attend classes (minimum of 80% of classes)
• active participation in class, including homework assignments
• complete the final exam (listening comprehension and presentation)

For participants requiring only a Teilnahmeschein" without any ECTS the requirements are as follows:

This course is suitable for students with an upper-intermediate B2 to C1 level (6-7 years of learning English). Content-wise it is ideal for students of social sciences and humanities, but of course students from all academic areas and disciplines are very welcome to join.
