Please, purchase the course book well before the seminar. You can either choose the paperback or digital version. If you want to participate in both B2.1 and B2.2 All Skills courses, it is cheaper to buy the full book (units 1-12).

Once you receive your copy of the book, you will be able to login to oxfordonlinepractice with an individual code provided in the book. This gives you access to various resources, such as online exercises, audio and video files, progress tests, grammar checks etc.

Successful completion of this course will give you 3 ECTS points. If you wish to use these points as part of an ASQ module, please check with the Exams Office (ASPA)as to whether or not these points are acceptable.

In order to receive a "Leistungsschein" (3 ECTS) you will have to:

• regularly attend classes (minimum of 80% of classes)
• active participation in class, including homework assignments
• successfully complete the final exam (written and spoken parts)

Course objectives: reaching B2.1 upper intermediate level

• understanding the main ideas of complex texts on both concrete and abstract topics
• ability to interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity
• participation in regular interaction with users of English quite possible without imposing strain on either party
• producing clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects
• expressing a viewpoint on topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages

The course is designed for students with at least B1 level of English (ca. 5 years of study).
