Englisch B2+ für Geisteswissenschaftler - listening and speaking - Einzelansicht

This course is designed to develop your oral skills (listening, speaking, critical thinking and discussing) - using English in academic contexts. We will listen to audio and video recordings focusing on various aspects of academic topics, such as linguistics, behavioural science, psychology, international relations and others. You are invited to provide texts (lecture, introductory videos, podcasts) from your own discipline or area of studies and discuss these with the other students.

Please note: We will only work through the first half-book of series 5 during the summer semester 2023. Therefore, you only need to buy the paperback version or e-book of the first part (A) of this book covering units 1-4.

Upon successful completion of the course you will receive 3 ECTS (Leistungsschein).

In order to receive a "Leistungsschein" (3 ECTS) you will have to:

• pay for the course (see above)
• regularly attend classes (minimum of 80% of classes)
• active participation in class, including homework assignments
• complete the final exam (listening comprehension and presentation)

For participants requiring only a Teilnahmeschein" without any ECTS the requirements are as follows:

• active participation in class, including homework assignments

This course is for students of social sciences and humanities (Sociology, Politics, Languages, Education, History etc) at upper B2-C1 level. This means you have upper-intermediate to advanced level English (c. 8-9 years in school).

If you wish to register for more courses, you may choose any other course in the B2 range, including other specialist courses that are listed as B2+. You may not choose courses at A2 or B1 level.
