The aim of the lecture is to give an introduction into nuclear physics, natural radioactivity and the formation of elements via nucleosynthesis.
The main topics covered are:
- nuclear matter and models for mass and properties of the atomic nucleus - radioactive decay and natural radioactivity - interaction of radiation with matter and detecting radiation - nucleosynthesis and nuclear astrophysics, big-bang nucleosynthesis, stellar burning and explosive scenarios - laboratory experiments related to nuclear astrophysics |
