In the first part of this course we will look at recent studies on human face recognition and will begin planning a study that will be conducted in the following summer term. Depending on participants' needs and interests and also on the corona situation in the summer semester, the study may be a behavioural experiment with online data collection (e.g. via PsyToolkit), or a lab based experiment including the collection of behavioural and/or EEG data.
Aims of this project seminar:
- Provide theoretical knowledge on face perception, including event-related potential (ERP) markers of face recognition
- Enhance practical research skills, including setting up experiments and analyzing data
- Foster team work and presentation skills (oral presenation of research and report writing will be part of the course)
Depending on participants' needs and preferences, this course can be held in English or in German. |
