Bemerkung |
National minorities and minority conflicts are part of the political landscape in Europe. Why do autochthonous minorities exist? How and where do minority conflicts arise, and when do they escalate? What possibilities of regulation exist, and how do they work in practice? The seminar focuses primarily on minorities and minority conflicts in Europe and deals with questions and findings of empirical-analytical research on conflict causes and dynamics, patterns and courses, actors and conflict resolution. It requires basic knowledge of qualitative and quantitative methods of political science and is oriented toward the ideas and goals of research-based learning. Accordingly, participants are encouraged to actively and independently engage with current research topics, develop relevant questions, and investigate as well as present case studies. The is offered as a block seminar with additional online dates. Further information will be provided in the introductory session.
