Fancy standing on an apron, talking rhubarb? Or blocking scissors on the boards? No, this is not an invite to a mad and dangerous cookery event. We are talking theatre - a world that sounds in English just a little as if it were a dialect all of its own, mixed in with a (green) room full of curious traditions. (Don't mention that Scottish play by the great English wordsmith William Shakespeare!) All of this can be explored - with a good dollop of fun and humour along the way - by joining the new English-speaking 'Am Dram' (amateur dramatics) group being established at the Internationales Centrum. We will be meeting on Tuesday evenings for workshops, choosing and planning performances, and, of course, quite a lot of rehearsing. Putting on a show is a real team effort, so whether you can act on stage or assist behind the scenes there's bound to be a spot for you somewhere in a production. Whether complete novice or experienced performer, every helping hand is very welcome! So do come along, as often as you can, to dip your toe into thespian waters. Switch off from work and studies by experiencing the thrill, joy, mishaps, and all-round camaraderie of a band of players. Your imagination, your English, and your CV will all be the fresher for it.
