The law of Tort tells us when people may recover compensation for an infringement of their rights outside a contractual relationship. In English Law there is no single principle of tort but rather a series of different torts. Tort Law is essentially based on Common Law and this will be honoured by focusing on important judgments, most notably the famous case of Donoghue v Stevenson [1932] AC 562. Classes will depend on student participation (in English of course) which is why attendance is mandatory, also for native speakers from partner institutions. Students will need to have a basic grasp of the English language. |
