The course will look at different fields of international law through the consideration of current issues. This includes topis as varied as international law and climate protection, space law, business and human rights, animal rights in international law, international health law (and current issues of vaccinations), problems of the law of the sea, questions of migration, and international trade law. Starting from topical problems, the course will provide an overview on international law: important international treaties, its key institutions including international courts, and the history of its development. The aim is for students to gain a basic understanding of international law and its relevance for contemporary challenges. |
