Seminar presumes basic grasp of negotiation theory and uses a course text “Designing Systems and Processes for Managing Disputes” to deepen understanding of mutual gains approach (MGA), alternative dispute resolution (ADR), and the integration of applied ethics and negotiation in value-ethics theory. Many conflict contexts are examined with a focus upon structure-level or systems approaches for optimally addressing issues of relevance to applied ethics in organizations and more generally. The course text must be ordered and in student’s possession before start of semester. The language for the course is English. Assessment is based upon course participation, case-study preparation, and written assignments (may be submitted in German or English). |
