In this seminar, we will examine stressors, coping, and resiliency across the lifespan. We will distinguish the various types of stressors (e.g., life-event, chronic, and daily stressors) and types of coping (e.g., reactive and proactive). We will discuss the environmental and individual factors associated with resiliency at various points in the lifespan. From a developmental perspective, we will examine the role of stressors in early development, as well as in the aging process. This seminar will be conducted in English (with the expectation that students be comfortable reading, writing, and discussing in English).
Please note: Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the seminar will be held as a purely online event. Course materials, assignments, and presentations will be provided on Moodle. Participation in the seminar is thus possible independent of time and location (within the deadlines for submission of seminar tasks, also communicated via Moodle). All participants should check their university email regularly and have access to the online moodle course. Information on the procedure for seminar admission in the event of excess demand will follow after the end of the registration period.
