Advanced grammar is designed to strengthen students’ usage of English grammar for academic purposes, such as completing written assignments and public speaking.
Upon successful completion of this course and the C1.1 grammar course, students will be able to understand and apply the following grammar structures in spoken and written discourse:
• nouns, possessives and pronouns
• articles and quantifiers • prepositional phrases, prepositions of place, movement, time and meaning
• adjectives and adverbs – position, form and use
• tenses, including present, past, perfect, past perfect in both simple and continuous forms
• future forms
• modal verbs, including verbs of speculation, expectation, obligation, necessity, prohibition, criticism, certainty, habits and willingness
• conditionals
• negatives and question forms
Students will also develop an awareness of their own writing errors and how to correct and edit them. |
