In Applied Laser Technology the laser is used as a contactless probe and/or as a subtle tool. In the 1st part of this lecture selected applications with lasers as a probe - e.g. remote sensing (LIDAR of ozone cloud), specialties of Raman spectroscopy, flame diagnostics by laser induced fluorescence, quantum beat spectroscopy, and optical microscopy beyond the Abbe limit - will be presented and discussed in the exercises. These are suited for graduate physicists and physicochemists (after bachelor).
