This course will take place online and is aimed at students who are interested in exploring their creative writing ability as well as improving their English. It differs from academic writing in that there is more freedom for expression using dialogue, metaphoric language and different tenses. It is one of the few courses on offer that taps and explores the imagination.
Nevertheless, there will be correction of language that is simply wrong and each student should aim to produce pieces of writing which are both entertaining and good English. The level of English the students start with may vary but a marked improvement in submitted work should be apparent by the end of the course. In the past we have published pieces in Akrützel and participants will place their homework on the Moodle platform so that it can be read by other members of the group as well as the teacher.
