Description and course goals:
The course Intercultural Theory is part of the Module P1 ”Grundlagen der Interkulturellen Wirtschaftskommunikation” and is a prerequisite to write the exam in the lecture of Prof. Dr. Bolten.
Main goals:
- Learn relevant theories, methods and perspectives in the intercultural field.
- Reflect critically about approaches, perspectives and complex concepts.
- Analyze practical examples within the explored theoretical framework.
- Discuss actively and critically within the group improving academic skills in English.
- Use creativity to present topics and analyze practical cases.
Learning outcomes:
- Understand and reflect basic concepts, theories and perspectives regarding the intercultural field.
- Strengthen and deepen the knowledge of the P1 Module.
- Learn, understand and link theory, perspectives and models with practical examples.
- Ability to create arguments and discuss them on a theoretical basis.
- Improve presentation and moderation skills in academic context in English language.
- Creative thinking and application in presentations and analysis of case examples.

Evaluation
In order to obtain a participation certificate Teilnahmenschein (5 ECTS) the student is expected to:
- Participate actively during the semester, this means:
- Attend class
- Read the compulsory texts
- Hold a presentation and moderate one session during the semester
- Hand out one protocol
- Enroll in the Moodle platform and participate actively in the Forum:
- Post questions and discuss online regarding the papers you read.
