Some functions in the Friedolin system were not available for a short period of time. The functions affected included Module Catalogues and Overview of Grades.

We have resolved the issue. However, if you came across any further issues please submit a online request.

On 19 August 2024, Friedolin was switched to the winter term 2024/25. You can now register for courses for the upcoming semester via the module allocation function and the electronic course catalogue. Should you not find a course that was announced, please contact the respective teaching staff or department/institute.

re-registration for the winter semester 2024/25 is now possible. Please transfer the valid semester fee by 15 August 2024 (receipt of money at the university). When transferring money, please use your person-specific intended purpose (after login, see "Re-registration information" in the left navigation). If the money is received after 15 August, re-registration requires the additional payment of a late fee. Thank you for your attention and prompt completion. Please also note the changes due to the introduction of the Deutschlandsemesterticket (see re-registration information mail and information page of the Studierendenwerk Thüringen).

REALISE supports you in keeping an eye on your mental health during the semester and researching it scientifically. You complete a 20-minute survey on various aspects of mental health and receive a personal account with evaluations. We also provide information on mental health, support services and contact points in Jena. International students, who wish to extend their residence permit must submit a certificate of student status to their Imigration Office. For an extension within the standard period of study, a normal enrolment certificate is enough. If students have exceeded the standard period of study, they must also submit a certificate of study progress to their Immigration Office. Please use the study prognosis (Studienprognose) form that you can find at https://www.uni-jena.de/en/studies-international-forms#residencepermit. The old Friedolin form „Study Progress” is no longer available.

the first automatic allocation of course places has been completed successfully. Please check the recommended study plan, courses, and your study plan. Please contact your teaching staff if you have any further questions. Please note that there are many courses where the teaching staff allocate the places manually. You may withdraw from the courses to which you have been admitted within the given period (excluding the study programmes of the Institute of Sport Science). You can also still apply for further courses. The second automatic allocation starts on Thursday, 28th March 2024 8:30 a.m.

From this semester onwards, there will be a different payment procedure of course fees for the courses of the language centre: You will receive an invoice and your enrolment in a course becomes binding after the allocation of seats in Friedolin has been completed. Please do not hesitate to contact the language centre with inquiries concerning the courses or the respective procedures of enrolment and payment (sprachenzentrum@uni-jena.de).

From our counseling activities, we know that there are many other people with the same or similar experiences at the University of Jena.
